 You can ramble to Burg-Are with its fabulous view over our region’s mountainous landscape of. The castle of Burg Are was constructed around 1100 above the town and was destroyed in 1714. The remains of one of the rare 12th century double chapels can be seen in the ruins.
The chair lift will take you to the 354 m high Ditschardt, which offers another splendid view across the fantastic cliff landscape.
Or you could try wine tasting in the Winzergenossenschaft Wine Cellars in Altenahr.
Or else you could take a ride on the summer toboggan run in Altenahr: you can choose to travel down the mountain “at lightning speed" or at a "comfortable pace". The summer toboggan run guarantees fun and thrills for the whole family".
 There are countless opportunities for rambling on the 19 km long Rotweinwanderweg (Red Wine Footpath) and the region also offers a Nordic Walking Park. This is also an outstanding area for touring by mountain bike.
